Introduction
China
has a very long history of carpet-weaving which could be traced
back to Han dynasty. The traditional Chinese carpets are made
of cotton worps and wefts with natural-dyed wool pile on them. All
the origins of Chinese Carpet are in the northwestern part of
China because of the prevalence of sheep farming in those
regions. The
dye could be either vegetable or mineral. The design varies from
geometrical, vegetable, animal to human-being. The Chinese carpets
can be categoried according to the use into floor carpets, asile
rug, saddle rug, wall-hanging, bed cusion, chair cusion and sitting
cusion.
